5 Reasons Why Now is the Best Time to Be Gluten-Free

Hello all! I am Alexander Hymowitz, and I was diagnosed with celiac disease when I was 11. At first, I tried everything to not follow the gluten-free diet, but then I realized how much better I feel when I do eat gluten-free. I began my endeavor to follow a strict gluten-free diet 3 years ago. I am now 15 years old, 100% gluten-free, and I feel much better than I did while I was eating gluten. I’d like to tell you:

5 Reasons Why Now is the Best Time to Be Gluten-Free

1. There has been a huge boom in companies making gluten-free food.

At first, very few companies began producing gluten-free food, but now the number of companies is growing exponentially. Both large and small companies all over the world are now producing gluten-free food. Because more companies are producing glutenfree food, more stores are stocking and carrying gluten-free food. Next time you go to the grocery store, look on the shelves for gluten-free products because I can assure you will see a ton of it.

2. Gluten-free food is getting better.

Let me put this to you as simply as possible. Gluten-free food used to be nearly inedible. The few companies that were making gluten-free food were very new to the process of making gluten-free food. For anyone who has baked gluten-free products, you know how much trial and error goes into making gluten-free food taste good. Recently, companies have learned how to make their gluten-free products tastier. I am now eager to try different kinds of gluten-free foods because I know that it cannot really be that bad.

3. More and more places are starting to offer gluten-free options.

Have you ever been to a restaurant with your friends and they are ordering pizza, pasta and bread and you are thinking, this is going to be a long night? Well, recently many restaurants, even the big chain ones, such as P.F. Chang’s, The Cheesecake Factory and many more are offering gluten-free options.

4. More and more people are getting diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten intolerance.

Doctors have become more aware of celiac disease and its symptoms and therefore more and more people are getting diagnosed. One out of every 133 people has celiac disease. Take a minute right now to think how many people that is. You are not alone. There are tons of people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity and therefore more people out in the world wanting to help out.

5. There’s more information about celiac disease.
