Patient Registry Research Intern

Patient Registry Research Intern—Part-time, paid position (Remote/USA)

The Go Beyond Celiac (GBC) patient registry collects important survey data from people with celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity to provide insight into patient experiences and to accelerate research. Beyond Celiac seeks an intern to review current surveys and recommend how they may be improved based on patient feedback. This intern will also work with the team to analyze survey responses and visualize results so we may communicate these findings to the celiac disease community.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update surveys
    • Collect feedback from diverse patient population
    • Recommend modifications that improve user experience and increase cultural sensitivity
    • Apply updates to current surveys and develop additional survey questions
  • Analysis and visualization
    • Assist in quantitative analysis of closed-ended survey responses
    • Visualize findings (e.g., with charts, plots, infographics) for internal and external communication
    • Develop abstracts with the GBC team for submission to upcoming conferences

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in the social sciences or a related field (e.g., public health, statistics, health communications)
  • Experience with survey development, quantitative analysis, and data visualization

  • Experience with analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, SPSS) and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, R)
  • Understanding of IRB processes
  • Basic knowledge of and comfort working with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with surveying diverse populations
  • Completion of one or more courses in quantitative analysis and/or survey research
  • Familiarity with survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey)

Logistics

  • $15.00 per hour
  • Part-time, 20 hours/week
  • Fully remote

This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with the Beyond Celiac Science Team. The position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Research & Health Equity Programs.

Timeline
