Teen with Celiac Takes to Twitter to Get the Attention of Ellen DeGeneres

14-year-old Dominick Cura is on a mission to get celiac disease featured on The Ellen DeGeneres show.

In 2009, 14-year-old Dominick Cura was diagnosed with celiac disease. Since then, he has worked hard to raise celiac awareness in his local community. He started his own blog and even self-published his own cookbook, Eternally Gluten-Free: A Cookbook of Sweets and Inspiration, From a Teen! Now, Cura is ready to kick it up a notch and launch his awareness efforts on a national scale.

Cura is calling for the gluten-free community to help him gain the attention of TV personality and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. Frustrated by misinformation in the media about celiac disease and the gluten-free diet, Cura believes appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show will help him correct information and spread his message of celiac awareness to a national audience, rather than just in his hometown.

You can support Cura’s efforts by spreading the word on Twitter using the hashtag #DomOnEllen. The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) also encourages you to share the Celiac Disease Symptoms Checklist on social media to raise awareness of the many symptoms of celiac.
