Sarah Jane Smith Starts ALPG Season

Celiac golf star aims to make a statement.

NFCA spokeswoman Sarah Jane Smith kicked off her Australian Ladies Professional Golf (ALPG) season at last week’s NSW Openat Oatlands Golf Club, Sydney.

Finishing 9th overall, Sarah Jane hopes to make the most of her ALPG appearances as she prepares for the upcoming LPGA season.

From Sunshine Coast Daily:

Smith has played on the world’s most lucrative women’s tour for the past three years and continually improved her results, leading her to believe 2011 could be her breakthrough season.

“’I’d love to finish high enough on the money list to get into the limited field events and hopefully play all four majors,’ she said yesterday.

‘It’s getting to the point where a goal for a win isn’t unrealistic.’

‘I’ve been setting myself up pretty well.’

‘I felt like last year was a good year. I just didn’t capitalize on the places I put myself.’

‘I need to start finishing strong starts.’”

Sarah Jane’s next ALPG event, the ActewAGL Royal Canberra Ladies Classic, is scheduled for January 28th-30th at the Royal Canberra Golf Club.
