Sarah Jane Smith opened her LPGA season with a strong 39th place finish at the SBS Open.

After playing strongly on the Austrailian national tour for the past 3 weeks, Sarah went up against the world’s best playing at Turtle Bay Resort in Hawaii; making the final field, playing her best round (71) on the last day of the tournament, and finishing with an overall score of +5.

The SBS Tournament recieved major publicity as it was the LPGA debut of American golfer Michelle Wie. Wie finished in 2nd place behind fellow American golfer Angela Stanford.
