NFCA Welcomes Liberty Mutual Volunteers for Day of Service

Liberty Mutual employees will lend a helping hand to NFCA as a way to celebrate their 100th anniversary.

More than 20,000 Liberty Mutual Insurance employees from around the world are taking part in theServe with Liberty program, a service project started by the insurance company in honor of its 100th anniversary. The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) is one of the non-profits participating in this event, welcoming volunteers from the Plymouth Meeting Liberty Mutual Surety office to NFCA headquarters on Friday, June 22.

“All of us at the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness are grateful for the helping hands given to us by Liberty Mutual Team Leader Margaret Rahill and her associates Ashish Patel, June Pinkney, and Peter Shiesser,” said Alice Bast, Founder and President of NFCA. “Their willingness to pitch in to help NFCA meet our mission is a great testimonial for the importance of service in their lives and is a shining example of Liberty Mutual’s policy.”

The volunteers will assist NFCA staff in performing program-related administrative tasks, including making updates to the Foundation’s database – a critical and ongoing task for the non-profit. In preparing for and participating in this event, the volunteers have devoted the equivalent of an entire work week to NFCA.

NFCA’s staff looks forward to working with the volunteers and informing them about celiac disease and other gluten-related disorders.

“It’s one more opportunity to spread awareness!” Bast said.
