Hasselbeck Runs Half Marathon for Celiac Research

“The View” co-host put celiac in the spotlight at More Magazine/Fitness Magazine race.

Nearly 10,000 women participated in More Magazine/Fitness Magazine’s 8th Annual Women’s Half Marathon, and celiac disease was at the forefront.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, fellow celiac and author of the bestselling G-Free Diet, not only hosted the event, but also ran the half marathon to raise funds for celiac disease research. She completed the course in just under 1 hour, 45 minutes.

The race, which took place in Central Park on April 3, drew attention in mainstream and celebrity news. Access Hollywood and the NY Daily News covered the event, including Hasselbeck’s celiac connection.

On May 1, members of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) staff and other celiac advocates will participate in the 2011 Blue Cross Broad Street Run in Philadelphia. The race will be NFCA’s kick off to National Celiac Awareness Month and .
