Gluten-Free Cupcake Makers Find Sweet Success on Food Network and Beyond

The “Cupcake Wars” duo open new retail space in Connecticut.

Jeremy and Nicole Braddock have had an amazing year. They started a dessert company called Hardcore Sweet last October, which they operated out of a tiny kitchen in Waterbury, Connecticut. The Braddocks stood out because they catered their products for a variety of dietary needs including gluten-free and vegan. Word soon got out about this plucky duo and they were able to upgrade from their kitchen to a more roomy food truck. They soon found that they were selling over 200 cupcakes a day in a matter of hours.

Their popularity did not remain local for long. Jeremy and Nicole were called to the Food Network studios for an episode of “Cupcake Wars” that aired on October 26th. They wowed the judges, including special guest Rob Zombie, and won the $10,000 prize. With their new winnings and revenue from food truck sales, the Jeremy and Nicole have purchased retail space at 20 Main Street in Oakville, Connecticut. The couple will officially open the space on November 12th. You can follow Hardcore Sweet on their website or on Facebook.
