Hi, I’m Alexandra! I’m originally from New Canaan, Connecticut, but am currently studying nutrition at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

I was thirteen when I received my celiac disease diagnosis. Unfortunately, all my doctor offered me was a sheet of paper listing out the foods I could no longer eat. Though the initial transition to a gluten-free diet was difficult, the real challenge came when I went away to college. Having an autoimmune disease as a college student was very overwhelming. I felt frustrated and isolated because no matter where I looked for guidance, it seemed like no one was talking about the issues I was facing.

My goal as a Beyond Celiac Ambassador is to start honest conversations about the challenges the community faces. By breaking the various stigmas surrounding celiac disease, I hope to empower others to live their best gluten-free lives!
