Describe your life prior to diagnosis:

Before diagnosis my life was very uncomfortable. I often got sick, and my stomach problems made me feel very uneasy.

How did you come to know (or suspect) that you have celiac disease?

I was researching my symptoms and one day while I was having severe symptoms, my gastroenterologist recommended that I get a TtG blood test. The results came back positive, and an endoscopy with biopsy confirmed a diagnosis of celiac disease.

How long did it take for you to get diagnosed since your first symptoms and what (if any) challenges did you face along the way?

It took approximately five to six years to get diagnosed after I started having major symptoms. I had been misdiagnosed with other gastric issues.

Describe your experience with living with celiac disease:

Now I’m feeling very good as I’m free from all the upset stomach issues. But on the other hand, celiac disease has messed up my social life.

What would a cure mean for you?

In my opinion, it doesn’t matter much whether or not there is a cure, because I’ve learned to live a better life without gluten. But if there were a vaccine, that’d be fine.

Is there anything else you’d like to add to your story?

I think there should be a good community of people with celiac disease, a place where we can have fun and we don’t feel left out. Also, in my opinion having a partner who has celiac disease is a good choice for living a happy and better life. Peace out 🙂
