Hello hello! I’m Kate, a Connecticut native, adulting and traveling and loving life with celiac disease.

Life with Celiac Disease

I was diagnosed in 2017, and I’ve been a fierce believer in health advocacy ever since. I think I was one of the lucky ones; Only six months passed between my initial symptoms and my celiac diagnosis.

Little did I know, the years to come would not be as easy as ‘just avoiding gluten,’ like my original doctor had said. Eating gluten-free was the prescription, but there were so many lifestyle changes that I didn’t see coming.

But here I am today, living the most fulfilled life without gluten. It took me a while to get here, and the mental toll celiac disease takes on a person is no joke. From reevaluating my entire lifestyle to combating anxiety to repairing my relationship with food, it has been a true whirlwind of a journey. My hope is that as an ambassador, I get the chance to make someone else’s life with celiac disease just a little bit easier.
