Dear Beyond Celiac Community,
I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve created a new mobile app for our online research database, Go Beyond Celiac! This app will allow you to interactively connect with research – with the convenience of living on your phone or tablet.
Go Beyond Celiac has already enrolled thousands of members since its launch in 2017, and this app is just one more way that you can help accelerate research. If you haven’t already signed up for Go Beyond Celiac, I highly encourage you to do so! The site allows you to share your story and experiences with celiac disease and learn how to become involved in studies. If you are already registered, you’ll need to reset your password the next time you login. All of your info previously entered will be available.
The app also makes Go Beyond Celiac more interactive, offering you helpful insights about events, educational opportunities and more. Go Beyond Celiac members will also be able to see how their experiences compare to others as a more complete picture of celiac disease emerges from the data collected. The app will help you be in the know and feel even more connected to the celiac disease community.
Understanding how people have been impacted by celiac disease is some of the most important information researchers need to accelerate research. Go Beyond Celiac provides us with the ability to tell them what life has been like before, during and after our diagnosis. Ultimately, we hope your stories will help in the development of treatments and the finding of a cure.
While awareness of celiac disease is higher than ever, people living with this genetic autoimmune condition still struggle to be taken seriously. At Beyond Celiac, we’re working to address this need. Our new app is just one of the ways we’re doing so and we would love for you to check it out (it’s available on both Android and Apple devices). Share your story and let us know what you think!

The 2019 James W. Freston Conference
Hosted August 9-10 by the American Gastroenterological Association, this conference will be centered around the topic Food: At the Intersection of Gut Health and Disease. Speakers will examine how nutrition can combat a range of GI disorders. Beyond Celiac is proud to endorse this conference.

Research!America Civic Engagement Proposal Request
Research!America is requesting proposals from student and postdoc-led science policy groups for their civic engagement initiative. They will provide funding to student groups in activities of their design that focus on civic engagement and elevating the importance of scientific research and public health in the national conversation to increase awareness among public officials.
