An abstract from The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) has been accepted for a poster presentation at the International Meeting on Coeliac Disease, Mastering the Coeliac Condition: From Medicine to Social Sciences and Food Technology, to be held March 29-31 in Florence, Italy. The poster will share findings from NFCA’s study on “The Use of Disease Symptoms Checklist in Self-Initiated Diagnoses of Celiac Disease and Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity.”

The study was authored by Kristin Voorhees, MA, Healthcare Relations Manager, NFCA; Abbe Lefkowitz of Lankenau Institute for Medical Research, Wynnewood, PA; Michael Chernick, PhD, Director of Biostatistical Services, Lankenau Institute for Medical Research,Wynnewood, PA; and Daniel Leffler, MD, MS, Director of Clinical Research at the Celiac Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston.

NFCA’s Kristin Voorhees submitted the abstract and will present the poster during the Congress titled “The New Frontiers of Coeliac Disease: an Update from Basic to Clinical Research.” NFCA Founder & President Alice Bast will join Kristin at the event.
