What is Cabernet Sauvignon?

Cabernet sauvignon is a red wine present in almost every major vineyard region. It is most well known for its presence in Bordeaux wines. Its origins trace to France and Spain, and but it has spread across the world to vineyards from California to Australia. Partly as a result of its easy cultivation, cabernet sauvignon is the world’s most largely planted wine grape. Its grapes have thick skins and its vines are resistant to changing environments.

Cabernet sauvignon wines are usually full-bodied with high tannins and acidity. Across different regions and climates, its notes range from black currant to eucalyptus or menthol.
