On October 23, 2019, Beyond Celiac represented the celiac disease community as a member of a robust panel discussion at the Autoimmune Disease Virtual Summit hosted by the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) and the National Coalition of Autoimmune Patient Groups (NCAPG) in Washington, DC.
AARDA/NCAPG has conducted summits for autoimmune patients across the country focused on public policy priorities and strategies for patient advocacy at the federal and state levels.
As a member of NCAPG, Beyond Celiac was pleased to collaborate with other representatives of autoimmune groups joining an expert panel in DC to provide information, advocacy models and a “call to action.” Representing Beyond Celiac, Nancy Ginter, Director of Administration, discussed research in the field of celiac disease and emphasized the vital role that patients and caregivers play as we work to discover new treatments for celiac disease —and a cure.
This 2019 Summit Session, Patients’ Stake in Autoimmune Research Investment & Results, offered an opportunity to share insights and perspectives about the breadth of research being conducted in the field of celiac disease, as well as other autoimmune disorders.
