Hi I’m Grace! In my free time I love to read, volunteer, and nerd out over Lord of the Rings.
I was fortunate enough to be diagnosed with celiac disease at the age of three, and have a supportive family that has helped me navigate how to live with it. But even with their assistance, the gluten-free lifestyle can take a heavy toll on a person both mentally and physically. I struggled for a long time growing up with going to birthday parties and attempting to order at restaurants when there were few to no safe options.
That fear of getting violently sick from a community’s lack of awareness about celiac disease is why I knew I had to join the Reach Beyond Celiac Ambassador program. My goal is to help the newly diagnosed transition into a healthy, gluten-free life that is completely worry-free, whether they are in school, trying to eat out, or want to cook a meal at home. I am so grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to work with all the amazing people at Beyond Celiac on this journey!
