Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles to Earn Gluten-Free Certification

In addition to lower sugar content, cereals will soon boast gluten-free label.

Post Foods is making cereal healthier for all children, including those with celiac disease. The company announced last week that it would reduce sugar content in Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles, as well as earn gluten-free certification for the two products.

Made from rice, Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles are naturally gluten-free, but certification will ensure that cross-contamination risks are monitored and avoided. As for sugar content, the new cereals will have 9 grams of sugar per serving instead of the current 11 grams.

Customers can start looking for the new and improved cereals in January, according to the announcement.
