A woman with light brown hair smiles at the camera. She is wearing a dark halter top. Green foliage and sunlight are visible in the blurred background.
Sarah is the caregiver for her young son, who was diagnosed with celiac disease at the age of 4 after searching for answers to his stomach pain and fatigue for close to 2 years. With an understanding of clinical trials/research from her professional life in the pharmaceutical industry, she looks forward to being one of the representative pediatric voices in the room when celiac clinical trials/medicines are being discussed. She believes we can do better than the current “solution” of living on a Gluten Free Diet, whether that be something that allows people to safely eat gluten or find sufficient relief should they accidentally ingest gluten. Sarah is currently the Committee Chair for the Greater Boston Step Beyond Celiac, where in 2025 her husband and 2 sons joined her as the event speaker, ribbon cutter, and highest team fundraiser. Her dream is that research leads to a cure within her son’s lifetime, especially when he states, “I wish I didn’t have celiac.”
