Describe your life prior to diagnosis:

I had chronic sinus infections for 30 years, and since childhood my ears always rang with earaches. I’ve had anemia off and on since teenager, and a chronic morning cough.

How did you come to know (or suspect) that you have celiac disease?

After a trip to Mexico, I had PMS daily. I ended up having a uterine ablation, and a dilation and curettage.* After this procedure I started having four stools daily; I asked my doctor why this was happening, and they went on to diagnose me with celiac disease after an endoscopy.

How long did it take for you to get diagnosed since your first symptoms?

Three years.

Is there anything else you’d like to add to your story?

I bring my own bread to a restaurant so I feel better.
