Greetings,
We are the Bibb family! My name is Amyracle Coles Bibb, and alongside my husband, Jamicahel Bibb, we proudly introduce our courageous celiac warrior, Ledger Bibb [pictured]. We are from Montgomery, Alabama, where Ledger, a vibrant and lively three-year-old, fills our lives with joy and laughter.
After years of numerous doctor visits and battling illness, we finally received Ledger’s diagnosis in June 2023. This journey has been unforgettable, and it is one I would not wish upon anyone. Witnessing our sweet boy endure such pain has profoundly impacted us. This is an experience that you truly have to go through yourself to understand.
Ledger enjoys spending time with family, zooming around in his toy cars with his brother JD, eating pizza, and ice cream. His resilience throughout this process has been truly inspiring. The task of having a young child with celiac disease can be so overwhelming at times. The first time we found out he would have to have a surgical procedure we didn’t know what to do, but today we stand grateful for going through with the decision. Negative blood test results, stomach bug diagnosis every 2-3 weeks, bad milk assumptions, seven milk brand changes, and many more obstacles.
To this day, this has been a significant adjustment for our family. Our outings now involve bringing Ledger’s own meals and juices, which can be disheartening, as we want him to feel comfortable and fully participate in activities that children his age enjoy. Every move we make for him is strategic to make sure he is properly cared for with his food and health being the number one priority. We strive to ensure that his food resembles what he sees around him. Although the food world appears different through his eyes, we remain hopeful that a cure is on the horizon! #GreenforLedger
