My family is incredibly grateful for having access to resources from the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) and wishes Alice Bast and the staff a hearty congratulations on the Foundation’s 10th anniversary. When my older son was diagnosed with celiac disease nine years ago, the NFCA – still in its infancy – provided us with materials to help ease his transition to a gluten-free diet. Since then, we’ve been impressed by the tremendous strides the Foundation has made in educating restaurants, schools, pharmaceutical companies and other organizations about the importance of keeping our family members safe.

Not only have we been fortunate to participate in many NFCA celiac awareness events in the Philadelphia area (where the Foundation is based), Alice was an inspiration for me to start my Gluten Free Philly blog four-and-a-half years ago, The tremendous increase in celiac awareness in the past 10 years is in no small part to the NFCA’s efforts.
