Emma Kaufmann Camp (EKC), headquartered in Pittsburgh, offers summer camp programs running from 2, 3, or 4 weeks. While it is not a dedicated gluten-free site, the camp takes strides to accommodate celiac and gluten sensitive children. Gluten-free food is stored, prepared and cooked in a separate, dedicated area. A dedicated staff member is also assigned to the gluten-free area to ensure the food is kept safe.
According to one camp parent, the gluten-free food is created to match the non-gluten-free meals and tastes delicious. The camp, which is located in West Virginia, can also accommodate children with diabetes.
