Filing a Complaint

Your health and safety are of the utmost importance to Beyond Celiac, formerly known as National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA). That is why we partnered with the Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP). Unlike other certification programs, the GFCP has strict protocols in place to monitor and test gluten-free products from ingredient sourcing until the product is finalized and ready for distribution.

Brands that are certified through the GFCP are following strict manufacturing guidelines in order to earn the Beyond Celiac seal of approval.  In order to maintain a trusting relationship with our community, we believe that being transparent and open with you is essential. Therefore, if you think that you have been glutened due to eating a product manufactured by a GFCP brand, we want to know about it so we can work with the brand and the GFCP to learn more about the incident and to ensure corrective actions are immediately put into place if necessary.

To make a complaint about a GFCP product, please fill out the form below. If you have a complaint about a brand that is not certified through the GFCP, please visit www.BeyondCeliac.org/FDA to learn how you can report a product to the FDA.

Important note: Beyond Celiac was formerly known as the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness. Until further notice, the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness trademark seal (pictured below) will remain on products certified through the Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP). 



 

What happens next?

When you fill out the above form, an NFCA team member receives an email alert with the information you entered above. After we receive your information:

  1. NFCA will confirm that we received your complaint. We may ask for additional details about your experience to ensure we are best addressing your concern.
  2. NFCA will relay your information to the Allergen Control Group (ACG), the company behind the GFCP.
  3. ACG will route your complaint through the appropriate channels at the manufacturer level.
  4. You should be contacted by the manufacturer directly to further discuss the complaint.
