“Spread the Bread” Raises Over $17K for Celiac Disease Education

Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bakery and NFCA celebrate success of coupon-based fundraiser.

If you’ve “Spread the Bread,” pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bakery announced yesterday that the popular coupon campaign raised more than $17,400 for the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA).

Spread the Bread’s benefits were two-fold: for every coupon downloaded, the consumer got $1 off Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bread, and NFCA gained a $1 donation.

Funds raised by Spread the Bread will support NFCA’s physician education program, www.CeliacCMECentral.com. The free online continuing medical education program teaches primary care providers how to properly detect, diagnose and manage celiac disease. NFCA recognizes that improved diagnosis begins in the primary care setting, and Spread the Bread funds will ensure physician outreach continues.
