Philadelphia manufacturer is latest to offer celiac and gluten-free friendly treats.
Tasty Baking Company, the Philadelphia based manufacturer behind Tastykake, has added gluten-free cookies to its product line. The new Tastykake Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies and Gluten-Free Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies have been spotted in Acme supermarkets in the greater Philadelphia area.
Gluten-Free Philly was first to report the new find after a fan tipped him off on Facebook. According to the post, the new cookies are made in a dedicated gluten-free facility, making them safe for celiac and gluten intolerant individuals to enjoy.
Tasty Baking Company is latest mainstream manufacturer to address gluten-free needs. Last December, Post Foods announced that its Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles would soon bear a gluten-free label, while Kellogg’s quietly revealed last month that it’s working on a gluten-free version of Rice Krispies cereal.
Tastykake’s new gluten-free treats retail for $5.99 per box of eight cookies.
