The father and daughter duo appeared on the talk show to promote a new cookbook, The Gluten-Free Table.
Jilly Lagasse appeared alongside her famous father, Emeril, on Good Morning America earlier this week to prove gluten-free doesn’t have to mean “flavor-free.” Together, the two highlighted two of the recipes in Jilly and her sister Jessie’s new cookbook, The Gluten-Free Table, which was released yesterday.
Jilly and Jessie were diagnosed with celiac disease in 2004 and 2001, respectively. On the Good Morning America segment, Jilly explained her initial frustration with the gluten-free diet, especially having been “spoiled” by her father’s flavorful cooking. On a mission to develop delicious gluten-free meal alternatives, Jilly and Jessie created The Gluten-Free Tableand the recipes inside.
According to the Lagasse Girls’ website, the cookbook features favorite family and Southern classic recipes, plus an introduction by Emeril and anecdotes from the girls. The recipes range from Sweet ‘n’ Sticky Chicken Drumsticks and Hearty Butter Bean and Ham Soup to Slow-Cooked Rosemary Chicken with Apples and Fennel and Maple Syrup Johnnycakes with Ice Cream.
