Huffington Post Article Recognizes the Stress of Living with Celiac Disease

National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) President and CEO Alice Bast discusses the link between celiac disease and stress, while encouraging participation in fueling the research process.

The Huffington Post recently published an article written by National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) President and CEO Alice Bast in its Healthy Living section.

The article focuses on how celiac disease takes a toll on bodies by triggering stress on a daily basis. People with celiac disease must constantly worry about the food they eat and how it is prepared so that they can effectively treat their serious genetic autoimmune condition. Alice advocates for using that stress to fuel research and a desire to help people with celiac disease live better, longer.

As scientific research toward finding a pharmaceutical treatment for celiac disease continues to progress at a fast pace, she encourages people affected by celiac disease to get involved by joining Beyond CeliacTM: NFCA’s Research Opt-In.
