Herr’s Recalls Sour Cream and Onion Chips for being Mislabeled as Gluten-Free

Select bags of the chips are being recalled because of the labeling error.

Herr Foods Inc. is recalling certain bags of their Sour Cream & Onion chips because they have been mislabeled with the words “gluten-free” on the front of the package. The ingredients label, however, accurately states that the product does contain wheat.

This recall affects only the 1.875 oz. bags of Sour Cream & Onion chips, which were distributed nationwide through retail stores, distributors and internet sales. A recall report states that only bags sold individually in this size and flavor are included in the recall.

The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) encourages all people living with celiac disease and other gluten-related disorders to always read the ingredients label of all foods, even if they are labeled gluten-free.
