After more than a year of legal battles, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been cleared of plagiarism charges. The win was announced Dec. 6, 2010, after a judge declared there was no evidence to indicate that Hasselbeck had plagiarized another woman’s work in her best-selling book, The G-Free Diet.

The lawsuit began in June 2009, when author Susan Hassett accused Hasselbeck of lifting content from a book Hassett wrote in 2008 about her experience with celiac disease.

According to the Huffington Post, Hasselbeck’s lawyer called the decision “a complete victory” and said it was proof that The G-Free Dietis based on Hasselbeck’s own experiences. “We are grateful that the federal court fully vindicated Elisabeth, seeing through this misguided lawsuit,” the statement said.
