Gluten Free Watchdog tests two popular oat products using the Nima sensor.
Tricia Thompson, MS, RD of Gluten Free Watchdog recently tested popular oat products that are likely to contain traces of gluten using the Nima sensor. Thompson tested the recommended pea-sized samples, and the Nima sensor showed that no gluten was found in either sample. This is because the Nima device should not be used for foods that will have uneven distribution of foreign gluten-containing material, often called “hot spots.” Watch Gluten Free Watchdog’s video on using the Nima sensor and also don’t forget to check out Nima’s full FAQs to learn more about the device limitations.
