Chef Maxime Bilet Explains the Importance of Gluten-Free for the Celiac Disease Community on WGNTV

National Foundation for Celiac Awareness Chef Ambassador Maxime Bilet demos a gluten-free recipe and explains why safe options are so important for those with gluten-related disorders.

Renowned chef and author of Modernist Cuisine, Maxime Bilet showed his support of the celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitive communities on a recent cooking segment on WGNTV. Noting that even a crumb-sized amount of gluten is enough to cause serious consequences for people with celiac disease, Chef Bilet helped raise awareness of the fact that food is truly medicine for our community.

Chef Bilet recently accompanied the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) to the 2014 National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show along with Chef Jehangir Mehta, a finalist on “Next Iron Chef” and Chef Maneet Chauhan, also a renowned chef and advocate of gluten-free needs. Together, the three chefs hosted a gluten-free cooking demonstration for the over 61,000 foodservice professionals attending the NRA show in Chicago this year.

Check out Chef Bilet on WGNTV and share the segment with friends and family to help raise awareness. Be sure to check out Chef Bilet’s recipe for gluten-free Sweet Onion Broth below the video!
