I need to find a product that I can use for lip balm and the area between the nose and lips. I have a cold and feel like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer with sore red lips and area. I am very allergic to mint and mint products. Please help. Thank you.

Dear Ann Marie,

I cannot endorse any specific products and I am not very familiar with what products do and don’t contain mint. There is a product made by Eucerin called Aquaphor Ointment that does not appear to have any gluten containing ingredients and it is for repairing and healing dry, cracked and irritated skin. Many people use it for the areas you are describing. According to the Carmex website, their products do not contain gluten, but they do contain menthol, and with your concerns regarding mint, I am not sure if you are able to tolerate menthol. By calling the companies directly, you can get more detailed information regarding the gluten and mint status of lip balm products.
