While the mainstream media often focuses on the gluten-free diet, the connection to celiac disease is not always made.  Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a regular health expert on CNN, covered the gluten-free diet and its connection to the autoimmune disease in a segment of Everyday Health.

Dr. Gupta interviewed expert gastroenterologist Dr. Joseph A. Murray of the Mayo Clinic.  Dr. Murray discusses a recent study which found 1.6 million Americans are eating gluten-free or cutting down of their gluten intake without a medical reason to do so.   Meanwhile, 83% of people living with celiac disease remain undiagnosed.
