The GFree Athlete Cycles for Celiac Awareness

The GFree Athlete will take on the trail at Whiteface Mountain in support of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA), celiac disease, gluten sensitivity and the gluten-free diet.

Pierre Poulin, better known as the GFree Athlete, will take to the hills on June 15 as he cycles for celiac awareness in the Whiteface Mountain Hill Climb.

Poulin trains year-round for events like the hill climb. This course runs through Whiteface Mountain in the Adirondacks of upstate New York, which has a total elevation of 3,566 feet and the bike course stretches for 7.9 miles. He’ll be biking with full support from his wife Amy, the voice behind the blog Gluten-Free with Amy.

The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) is particularly excited about Poulin’s race as he is riding in support of NFCA, its mission and the medical need for a gluten-free diet in treating gluten-related disorders. NFCA wishes Poulin luck in the big race! Follow Amy and Poulin on Twitter for live updates from Whiteface Mountain. Don’t miss the original post on Gluten-Free with Amy highlighting the race, plus a gluten-free smoothie recipe!
